This is the Unofficial Official Blog of the Lehigh Valley Project 9-12/Tea Party.
It was the "Official Blog" because it was the only public web outlet the Lehigh Valley Project 9-12/Tea Party had during 2010. That has changed with the new website that has plenty of public content. Today I've changed the sub-title of this blog to the "Unofficial Official" blog to reflect that change. This site does not get filtered through any of the committees or executive board members of the group. Read below if you want a better understanding of the evolution of this blog.

This year will begin a departure from what has normally been posted here.
I created this blog in April of 2010 (see below) for the main purpose of giving the Lehigh Valley Project 9-12/Tea Party a public presence on the internet. A place where people could learn about the movement and the group and to point them to the MeetUp site where the local group had their organization set up. This way when a person would do a search for the Lehigh Valley Tea Party they would arrive here and not just to a MeetUp site where they would have to register. Due to changes occurring early in the new year this will no longer be necessary.
During this time the posts have been of a mostly informative nature and did not really delve into issues very much. This was mostly a conscious decision on my part because although this is "The Official Blog" of the group, I am not the official spokesman for it. My libertarian bent prevented me from presuming to speak for other people. Beginning today I will begin to add more content, more of my own writing and opinion in addition to information about the Tea Party, local and national.
I'll begin by giving my impressions of the "progressive" movement from what I have seen by reading the local blogs written by those who refer to themselves as such. I also hope to delve into the local political scene a bit and maybe possible give those who are in favor of fiscal restraint in government a voice and meeting place here on this blog.

The Old "What is This?" (April of 2010)
This is the official public blog of the Original Project 9-12/Tea Party of the Lehigh Valley PA.
Being "official" does not mean that everything that is found here reflects the ideas and views of every member of our organization. Having over 1,000 members makes that an impossibility! Nor is everything posted here put up for a membership vote.
What makes this the official blog is that the administrators of this site have been entrusted by our media committee with the duty of conveying to the public what we are all about.
