Upcoming bills and regulations to affect your life...

We have an Energy and Environment Committee that keeps an eye on these things and keeps the membership informed.

Environmental regulations and bills loom to play havoc with our energy bills and jobs...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Citizens to Protect PA Jobs has put out a press release urging everyone to call their State Representative to vote ‘No’ to House Bill 2405. Apparently this bill is another reaction to the idea that treats carbon dioxide as "global warming pollution".

From the website:
Specifically, this new bill would expand the renewable energy mandates currently in place under the 2004 Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards Act - even though that law has yet to be fully implemented. This approach thwarts [energy supply] innovation and leads to inflexibility with regard to alternative energy. Take action now and encourage your state representative to vote "NO" on H.B. 2405.
Citizens to Protect PA Jobs is a broad-based coalition of business and industry formed to educate Pennsylvanians about the need for state and federal policies that promote job creation and economic growth.

In a related matter:

From the "Pennsylvania Independent" website:
As bad as federal emission restrictions could be for Pennsylvanians, trying to impose restrictions at a state level could be even worse, said Dr. Thorning.  She criticized Pennsylvania's Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP), developed by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for having stricter targets than the federal cap-and-trade bill, for using inappropriate economic models to forecast impacts of the plan, and for ignoring the nearly insignificant impact it would have on global carbon emissions.
